real estate stalking

Life has been busier than usual these days, hence the stillness in these parts.
Clio's squarely in the thick of a very clingy stage.
She is hot on my heels even when I am just going to the bathroom.
She is sleeping much better at night.  Yay!
But she still is rarely napping during the day.  Boo!
This all leaves very little time for much else.

We rarely ever let her watch television but right now Clio is watching
Les Animaux Amoureux
while I finally get to finish my -now cold- coffee
and look up real estate in Portland.

This is one of my favorite recent finds that also happens to be in our budget.
I think we can all agree that yellow houses are happy houses.

  1. I LOVE the house! What neighborhood is it in? We live an hour from Portland, down in Salem.

B is going through a clingy stage right now. I left the room the other day and he screamed his head off. I thought he was hurt; he just wanted mama.

    1. Hi Angela. It was in the NE, I wanna say overlook. My brother-in-law works in Salem. Actually, Leif lived there until he was 14. When we move he is going to take me down there to show me around:)

Oh, B. You silly boy. He and Clio are totally on the same page.

  2. Oooooo that house is a beauty. I love that huge bay window arrangement. Yellow houses, every time! I can see you and Leif here, Clio zipping around in the garden.

Love that Clio is JUST like Reuben. Who sits outside the bathroom door, knocking, until I come out again. Who sits on my foot howling, until I lift him up. Glad that your girl is sleeping better, it really helps!

And, because you are not on the evil book of face you cannot laugh at my measly British rabbit hutch-esque house! We all live in glorified sheds South of London ;)

    1. What a polite little fellow Reuben is by knocking. Clio just screams. I've lived in a couple rabbit hutches myself. That reminds me of this:

    3. That was an interesting site, Bree. Our house is about French-sized.

Where are you hoping to land?

P.S. We're fermenting (anything and everything) here lately. Sandor Ellix Katz? In all your spare time...

P.P.S. Clio, you Love Cake. I bet you are not getting any less cute, either.

  4. Oh my, what a gorgeous house. Looks like home to me. And clingy stage. Yeah, I hear you. Lovely in a way, but OHMYGOD, please be comforted by daddy. Nannie. Your aunty. The neighbour. Anybody else! Mama just needs a second!

  5. That kitchen and bathroom are perfect. I'd love to visit you in that house! I love the pictures of Clio with your nieces in the pool... Those girls seem so entertained by her.

  6. OOOOOOh you should buy it! :) Because I totally want to. In case you are wondering the "clingy" stage can come and go apparently for up to 5 years. Kai is currently in it again himself and follows me around the house, calling for me if I am out of eye range, I brought this up to his preschool teachers and that is what she told me. 5 years! someday I will probably be following him around asking for hugs huh?

Hope you like cold coffee and the house is lovely.

  9. Ahhhh I love this house. I can totally picture sitting in the backyard in the evening watching children run around catching fireflies. So perfect. I love the floors and the arch! Perfect. I don't think clingy ever goes away as I have an 8 year old who has recently restarted kissing my arm and giving big squeezes everytime I walk by just as he did a few years back. Post more finds when your arms are free ;).
